Fiume, Deira, Bur Dubai, Souk





Dubai ha mosso i suoi primi passi in un canale d'acqua, il Creek che ha permesso lo sviluppo economico della città. Il Creek ancora oggi è un punto di riferimento per gli abitanti e turisti.


STORIA DEL FIUME :


Il Creek ha origine ad Al Ain, e dopo aver percorso un lungo tragitto arriva a Dubai che viene divisa dal corso in due zone, Deira da una parte e Bur Dubai dall'altra.

Il fiume ha avuto un ruolo cruciale per lo sviluppo commerciale della città, essendo il mezzo di comunicazione privilegiato per le imbarcazioni dirette in Africa e Asia, principali acquirenti della merce da vendere; il flusso di imbarcazioni è nel tempo divenuto cosi intenso da richiedere numerosi interventi di ingegneria per permettere il passaggio delle navi più larghe e ingombranti.


Il primo ponte realizzato per passare da una parte all'altra del Creek è stato quello di Al Maktoum, che collega Bur Dubai a Deira, e nel 2007 è stato allargato per permettere il passaggio di 9500 auto ogni ora

• Bur Dubai Abra Dock : giro in abra, è un imbarcazione tipica di Dubai che vi porta da una parte all'altra del fiume in 5 minuti per 1 dirham (0,25 centesimi) : un esperienza da provare principalmente al tramonto quando l'acqua del canale riflette i raggi del sole, regalando una visione unica e romantica del Creek.
